Thailand Surpasses 30 Million Overseas Visitors Even as Annual Total Declines
Listen
More than 30 million travellers have arrived in Thailand this year, though overall visitor numbers remain slightly below last year’s figures.
Thailand’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports has announced that foreign arrivals for 2025 have moved beyond the 30-million threshold.
As of 7 December, officials recorded a total of 30,273,872 international visitors.
Despite the scale of inbound travel, the accumulated figure is 7.19% lower than during the same period a year earlier.
Tourist spending during this span is projected at 1,405,480 million baht, reflecting the continued economic weight of the sector.
Permanent Secretary Natthriya Thaweevong confirmed the initial estimates and emphasised the significant revenue generated by travellers.
From 1 January through 7 December 2025, Malaysia provided the highest number of arrivals at 4,234,976, closely followed by China with 4,184,791.
India contributed 2,280,823 entries, Russia accounted for 1,685,931 visitors, and South Korea added 1,438,827.
