Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, and a coalition of one hundred forty-six Members of Parliament—including Thammanat Prompao of Kla Tham, Santi Promphat of Palang Pracharath, and Suchart Chomklin—held a press conference on Wednesday, 3 September 2025, expressing gratitude to the People’s Party for endorsing Bhumjaithai as the leading party in forming a new government. They reaffirmed unwavering adherence to the five-point Memorandum of Understanding agreed with the People’s Party and pledged to advance the prime ministerial selection process in strict accordance with the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand.
Anutin extended sincere thanks to the People’s Party’s executive committee, its Members of Parliament, staff, and supporters for their decisive resolution to back Bhumjaithai’s leadership in government formation. He confirmed that Bhumjaithai and its MPs had formally pledged support for his candidacy for prime minister and committed to constructing a government aligned with the People’s Party’s proposals. All involved MPs signed a document formalising this commitment.
He vowed to honour the intentions and sacrifices of the People’s Party throughout the four-month interim period and to ensure public oversight remains central to governance under this minority administration. Anutin stated that his entire energy would be devoted to realising the trust placed in him by the Thai people, with priorities including economic relief, managing tensions with Cambodia, conducting referenda, and initiating constitutional reform.
Anutin emphasised that government processes would proceed strictly under the provisions of Thailand’s Constitution, with the Speaker of the House and MPs facilitating the prime minister selection according to legislative protocols. “We will work together to prepare a document confirming our readiness for the Speaker to schedule the selection process,” he said. “With the People’s Party’s support and understanding, we are confident that government formation will proceed smoothly and our work will align with our mutual agreements.”
He concluded by highlighting three foundational motivations: “love for the nation, loyalty to the revered institution, and deep care for the welfare of the Thai people.” These, he said, foster their collective cooperation for the country’s future. “Rest assured, we will devote every day, every minute, every hour to fulfilling our duties as the government, ensuring the trust placed in us by the Thai people is honoured and our role as their representatives is truly valuable.”
