Bangkok Experiences High Temperatures Amidst Nationwide Thunderstorm Forecasts

Capital reaches 38°C as 15 provinces anticipate thunderstorms and elevated sea conditions
Bangkok is set to experience high temperatures today, with forecasts indicating a peak of 38°C. Concurrently, meteorological reports predict thunderstorms and rainfall across 15 provinces, affecting approximately 40% of the country.

Maritime regions are advised of elevated wave heights.

24-Hour Weather Outlook

In the next 24 hours, upper Thailand is expected to see rising temperatures, leading to hot daytime conditions accompanied by isolated light rain.

Residents are advised to be mindful of health implications due to these fluctuating weather patterns.

A weakening high-pressure system over the Northeast and the South China Sea is contributing to these conditions, as easterly and southeasterly winds carrying moisture diminish over upper Thailand.

Simultaneously, moderate easterly and southeasterly winds prevail over the Gulf of Thailand, the South, and the Andaman Sea, resulting in heavy rainfall in certain southern regions.

In the lower Gulf of Thailand, waves are expected to be moderate, ranging from 1 to 2 meters, while the upper Gulf and the Andaman Sea may see waves around 1 meter.

Areas experiencing thunderstorms could encounter waves exceeding 2 meters.

Mariners in these regions are advised to exercise caution and avoid navigating in stormy conditions.
