Central Pattana Partners with TAT and BMA for Nationwide Countdown Events

Chief marketing officer Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana announces Bangkok Countdown 2024 at CentralWorld and simultaneous Thailand Countdown 2024 celebrations in key provinces, expected to generate over 300 million baht from the Bangkok event alone.

The events, estimated at 500 million baht, will feature top-notch entertainment from 4:30pm to 12:30am, with highlights including performances by international stars and a showcase of over 200 local artists, offering a dynamic New Year celebration.

The countdown aims to reinvigorate the economy and attract international travelers, expecting a turnout of 250,000 at the CentralWorld event, with a quarter coming from abroad. Central Pattana envisions the countdown as a major music festival and a platform for enhancing Thailand's global appeal.

With hotels fully booked, these events mark a continued tradition of 23 years, as TAT expects an uptick in tourism revenue of 44% compared to the last year, forecasting over 54.4 billion baht in spending during the year-end festivities.

TAT governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool notes a 56% increase in international tourists and a 10% growth in domestic trips, highlighting the economic benefit of these nationwide celebrations. The agency supports 14 countdown events, including the Amazing Thailand Countdown 2024 set against the iconic Temple of Dawn.
