Date Announced for the Pacquiao vs. Buakaw Fight: April 20th
The highly anticipated boxing match between Manny Pacquiao and Buakaw Banchamek is set for April 20. The event, titled "The Match of Legends," is yet to have a confirmed location, as per announcements from Banchamek Gym.
Organized by Thailand’s Fresh Air Festival Co Ltd and SF Corporation, the match has an allocated budget of $25 million (875 million baht).
Although the competition will follow international boxing rules, which might disadvantage Muay Thai expert Buakaw, he remains an active competitor at age 41. On the other hand, Pacquiao, the only boxer to hold world titles in eight divisions, retired at 45 in 2021. The fighters will compete over six rounds, each lasting three minutes, with two-minute breaks.
The victor will take home a minimum of $289,000 (10 million baht). Fresh Air Festival CEO Vinij Lertratanachai has promised an exceptional exhibition of combat.
Pacquiao, a Philippine national icon and former senator, is known for his aggressive boxing style. Buakaw, a revered Muay Thai fighter, is celebrated for combining strength and flawless technique and holds a legendary status in Thailand.
