Forensic Report Reveals Heat Exhaustion as Cause of Death for Taylor Swift Fan at Rio Concert
A Taylor Swift fan, Ana Clara Benevides, 23, died from heat exhaustion during the star's Rio de Janeiro concert, forensic analysis confirmed.
The incident happened as temperatures soared to 40°C on November 17. Swift, deeply affected, expressed her sorrow on Instagram. At her next show in Sao Paolo, she welcomed Benevides' loved ones and took photos with them.
Over 60,000 fans at the event faced water supply issues, with many criticizing the organizers for prohibiting personal water bottles inside Nilton Santos Stadium.
The medical investigation ruled out other health issues or substances in Benevides' death, attributing it solely to heat-induced cardiorespiratory failure.
While one friend reported receiving water pre-entry, event organizer T4F has yet to comment, though they have pledged to revise heat protocols and support the family.
The Rio public prosecutor's office has initiated a criminal probe. Benevides, who had flown in for the show, represented a tragic loss to the Brazilian community.
