Prospective military personnel can apply to any of the three service branches online beginning Tuesday at https://rcm.rta.mi.th. This announcement was made by Jirayu Huangsap, spokesperson for Defence Minister Sutin Klungsang.
An event will also be hosted at the Defence Permanent Secretary's Office in Nonthaburi from 10am to 9pm to showcase the recruitment campaign and the perks offered. These include benefits during service, training, and post-service educational prospects.
Jirayu expressed confidence that the array of benefits would reshape the public's views on military service, which was once deemed undesirable under conscription. Starting next year, enlisted individuals will enjoy a benefits package with a monthly salary and various training and education programs that are proposed to eliminate any notion of military service as time squandered.
Recruits will have the chance to pursue a bachelor's degree, enhancing their prospects for future civil service employment. The Defence Ministry formalized agreements with the Ministries of Education and of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation to facilitate and validate educational programs within this initiative.
The new policy aligns with national defense strategies and is designed to support economic development in line with government objectives.
