Cost-cutting measures include:
• A three-month electricity price cut to 3.99 baht/unit, diesel price reduction by 2.50 baht/litre, excise tax cut for certain fuels, and LPG price freeze at 423 baht for a 15kg cylinder.
• Subsidies for 4.6 million rice farming households and incentives for sugarcane farmers to reduce air pollution.
• Debt relief for farmers with debts up to 300,000 baht.
• Assistance for tackling informal debt.
• A pilot universal healthcare scheme in four provinces, requiring only an ID card.
Policies to increase income:
• Visa exemptions for tourists from five countries.
• Salary increases for newly hired civil servants and adjustments for other ranks below C-9 level.
• A digital wallet initiative to be launched next year.
• Expansion of online markets for OTOP products.
• Later closing times for entertainment venues in key tourist areas to enhance income and tourism.
• Boost for tourism in lesser-known cities and 24-hour operations at Chiang Mai airport from November 1st.
