Heavy rain struck Pattaya in the early hours of Tuesday, causing severe flooding and stalling vehicles. Affected areas include parts of Pattaya city and Bang Lamung district. While the water has receded, the Meteorological Department predicts continued rain until Saturday.
On the early hours of Tuesday, heavy rain lashed Pattaya, causing severe flooding that stalled cars and submerged streets.
The rainfall, lasting more than three hours, affected parts of Pattaya city and Bang Lamung district in Chon Buri.
Key areas including a section of Sukhumvit Road in southern Pattaya were heavily flooded.
Despite the initial deluge, water levels receded, and the situation was nearly back to normal by Tuesday morning with only scattered flooding remaining.
The Meteorological Department has warned of ongoing rainfall in eastern provinces and other regions until Saturday.
The recent weather developments are associated with Tropical Storm Yagi, which has caused at least 13 fatalities in the Philippines but is not expected to impact Thailand directly.
The storm is anticipated to make landfall in southern China over the weekend.
