Marcos Commemorates Filipino Migrant Workers, Vows to Enhance Their Welfare
Acknowledging the significant contributions of the nearly 2 million Filipinos working abroad, especially in the Middle East, Marcos called them "modern-day heroes" for their crucial role in the economy through remittances.
Marcos committed to ensuring better conditions for their families in the Philippines, highlighting a 24/7 hotline for OFWs in distress and skill-building initiatives. Additional support programs are also aimed at the welfare of the workers' children and family members back home.
The President emphasized the government's commitment to fortifying family bonds despite the distance and promised further improvements to current projects, encouraging OFWs to take full advantage of these resources.
