As the MotoGP season opens in Buriram, riders will participate in a festive Tuk Tuk Challenge and parade, highlighting Thailand’s cultural soft power alongside elite racing
A distinctive cultural moment has been added to the build-up for the 2026 MotoGP Thailand Grand Prix, where world-class motorcycle racers will take part in a Tuk Tuk Challenge and parade ahead of the premier racing action.
Organisers confirmed that the festive event will take place on Sunday morning, featuring a dozen traditional Thai three-wheeled vehicles each carrying two of the sport’s leading riders around the Chang International Circuit in Buriram.
The parade and challenge form part of an expanded fan experience designed to blend Thailand’s rich cultural heritage with the global spectacle of MotoGP, engaging spectators and promoting Thai soft power to an international audience.
The inclusion of local actors and influencers in the event underscores its role as both entertainment and cultural showcase, underscoring Thailand’s ambition to deliver a multifaceted Grand Prix experience.
This cultural highlight complements the high-speed racing across Moto3, Moto2 and the premier MotoGP class throughout the weekend, which also features music performances and fan zones aimed at enriching the overall visitor experience.
