The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission sets auction guidelines for six spectrum bands, with auction starting by April.
The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) of Thailand has released guidelines for an upcoming telecom spectrum auction, valued at 121.02 billion baht, set to begin by April.
The auction will include six spectrum bands: 850 megahertz, 1500MHz, 1800MHz, 2100MHz, 2300MHz, and 26 gigahertz.
The spectrum licences will have a tenure of 13-15 years.
Auction prices will range from 423 million baht for the 26GHz band to 6.60 billion baht for the 850MHz band.
Winners must pay in instalments: 50% in the first year and 25% each in the second and third years, except for the 26GHz band, which requires full payment.
Additionally, winners must submit cybersecurity and personal-data protection plans to the NBTC at least three months before service commencement, ensuring network safety and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
