Thailand's Pornpawee Chochuwong secures the women's singles title at the Princess Sirivannavari Thailand Masters, defeating Indonesia's Komang Ayu Kaya Devi.
Pornpawee 'Mew' Chochuwong triumphed in the women's singles final of the Princess Sirivannavari Thailand Masters 2025, defeating Komang Ayu Kaya Devi of Indonesia 2-1. The tournament, held at the Nimibutr Sports Building in Bangkok, offered a total prize pool of $240,000 and featured top badminton talent from around the world.
Chochuwong, the top seed and ranked 8th globally, won the title with scores of 18-12, 21-16, and 21-13. This marks her third BWF World Tour Super 300 title and her first win at the Thailand Masters, joining the ranks of past champions from Thailand.In addition to the women's singles victory, Thailand saw success in the mixed doubles category, with Dechapol 'Bas' Puavaranukroh and Supisara 'Fame' Peuasamran securing the title, defeating Indonesia’s Djal Ferdinand and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadanti.
Thailand’s badminton team came close to sweeping the event, with two out of three finals won.
The men's singles title went to Tao Jiaheng Jason of Singapore, while South Korea's Jin Young and Seo Seung Jae claimed the men's doubles crown.
However, Thailand's Laksika 'Ken' Kallaha and Phataimas 'Jomjam' Mueanwong lost in the women’s doubles final to Indonesia’s Lanny Teer Mayasari and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadanti.
As the winner of the women's singles, Chochuwong took home $18,000 (about 603,000 baht), receiving the trophy from Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya.
The event, a key fixture in the BWF World Tour Super 300 series, highlighted Thailand's strong presence in the sport of badminton.
