Som Tum Poo Pla Ra: The Most Sought-After Menu on Grab Thailand
Som Tum Poo Pla Ra, a popular papaya salad with crab and fermented fish, tops GrabFood's sales in Thailand with over 4.4 million orders in 2023.
According to Grab Thailand's report, the next favorites are black coffee, green tea, larb moo (spicy pork salad), and Thai tea.
On GrabMart, essentials like eggs, which sold over 10 million, and drinking water, with over 9 million bottles sold, were in highest demand. Coffee is still the most popular drink, with over 4.6 million cups ordered.
The vegan menu's popularity soared, seeing a fivefold increase in orders. During New Year celebrations, pizza, mala hotpot, fried chicken, sandwiches, and burgers were top food choices, while bird’s nest gift hampers, flower arrangements, beauty sets, ice cream, and snacks were the prime non-food items. Year-round, fresh vegetables, milk, and ice were also among the top orders.
Skincare products saw a significant upsurge in demand, quintupling in order volume. Chantsuda Thananitayaudom, Commercial & Marketing Senior Director at Grab Thailand, commented on the evolving consumer behavior in 2023, noting a trend of integrating digital platforms with daily spending.
These insights were revealed at the ‘Food and Grocery Trends Report 2023’ event, which analyzed user preferences across six countries.
