The Department of Business Development is investigating more than thirty-six thousand foreign-linked companies suspected of using Thai nominees to acquire real estate illegally, with particular attention on sixteen provinces including Bangkok, Phuket and Chiang Mai and companies with just under forty-nine percent foreign ownership.
