Thailand's Lisa from Blackpink has dominated as the top solo K-pop artist in 2023
According to the records, Lisa kicked off 2023 with three achievements, including being the first K-pop soloist to win at both the MTV Video Music Awards and MTV Europe Music Awards, as well as having the most Instagram followers of any K-pop artist.
Blackpink also became the highest-streamed girl group on Spotify, while Lisa's solo release "Lalisa" crossed over 1 billion Spotify streams, a first for a K-pop song.
Amassing a total of eight Guinness World Records, Lisa's global influence as a leading K-pop soloist is unquestionable.
She also became the first K-pop star to be recognized as a "Cultural Icon" in the Asian Hall of Fame this year.
Since joining Blackpink in 2016, Lisa has seen her popularity soar, with her 2021 solo album featuring hits like "Lalisa" and "Money". Blackpink's influence extended to winning big at the Billboard Music Awards and embarking on the 'Born Pink' tour, the year's most successful show by an Asian artist.
