TOA and Sansiri Launch 'Green Mission' for Sustainable Housing

Partnership focuses on developing eco-friendly materials and achieving net-zero emissions in Thailand's real estate sector.
TOA Paint (Thailand) Public Company Limited has entered into a collaboration with Sansiri Public Company Limited, a prominent real estate developer in Thailand, to initiate the 'Green Mission'.

This partnership aims to innovate residential projects utilizing environmentally friendly and health-conscious materials, advancing the goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions in the housing sector.

Sansiri, recognized as the first real estate developer in Thailand to actively commit to net-zero emissions, has positioned sustainability at the core of its business model.

Mr. Prasert Trakranvachirahut, Executive Vice President of Sansiri, emphasized the importance of addressing the climate crisis and the critical role businesses play in tackling environmental challenges.

The alliance is a focal point for Sansiri and its collaborators within the Green Ecosystem, aligning with the principles of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG).

With a history of collaboration, both companies aim to enhance housing solutions that reduce environmental impact.

TOA’s eco-friendly products, which have been awarded the Carbon Footprint Reduction (CFR) label, have already been used in over 22 projects developed by Sansiri, indicating a commitment to further collaborative research and development of sustainable materials.

In its 2025 sustainability initiatives, Sansiri plans to further integrate green design principles in its luxury and premium housing segments, targeting a 50% reduction in energy consumption from earlier plans.

The company's Green Supply Chain Model encourages its suppliers to focus on environmental friendliness, representing a significant effort to mitigate overall ecological footprints.

This partnership with TOA is pivotal in advancing innovations in building materials and paints, enhancing living quality through improved resource efficiency.

In construction practices, Sansiri operates Thailand’s first green precast concrete factory, which has effectively reduced waste during production by up to 98%, while complying with regulations on noise and air pollution.

Utilizing advanced technologies like Building Information Modeling (BIM), the company optimizes planning processes, further decreasing resource usage.

Sansiri collaborates with a vast network of over 4,000 stakeholders in the supply chain to implement Green Architecture & Design, Green Construction, and Green Procurement.

This effort not only elevates the standards within the real estate sector, valued at THB 1.05 trillion (approximately 5.8% of Thailand's GDP), but also contributes to the nation's environmental objectives.

TOA’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Jatuphat Tangkaravakoon, reiterated TOA’s commitment to a sustainable future.

With a legacy spanning over 60 years, TOA has made significant strides in consumer health and environmental sustainability, being the first paint manufacturer in Thailand to eliminate harmful substances like heavy metals and lead in its products.

TOA’s innovative 'SuperShield' Cool Paint technology efficiently reflects solar heat, showing potential to reduce indoor temperatures by up to 5.5°C, thus decreasing energy consumption for air conditioning.

From 2022 to 2024, Sansiri has successfully incorporated TOA’s eco-friendly, CFR-certified products in its various projects, resulting in a reduction of global greenhouse gas emissions equal to 1,215 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent, likened to the environmental benefit of reforesting 108 acres.

TOA has been certified for 133 products under the Carbon Footprint Reduction framework and has ambitious targets to cut carbon emissions by 50% by 2030 and achieve Net-Zero emissions by 2050. This certification underlines TOA’s position as a leader in sustainable building products in the Thai market, reflecting a commitment to continuous innovation in eco-friendly solutions.

The initiative between TOA and Sansiri signifies a strong commitment from Thai businesses towards combating climate change, enhancing the quality of life for residents, and aligning with broader sustainability goals in the evolving global economy.
