Toll Fees Waived on Three Bangkok Expressways for Makha Bucha Day
Motorists to enjoy free passage at sixty-one toll booths during the religious holiday.
The Expressway Authority of Thailand announced that toll fees will be waived on three major Bangkok expressways this Wednesday, February twelfth, in observance of Makha Bucha Day.
The waiver applies to twenty checkpoints on the Chalerm Maha Nakhon Expressway, thirty-one checkpoints on the Sirat Expressway, and ten checkpoints on the Udon Ratthaya Expressway, effective from one minute past midnight until midnight on the day.
Makha Bucha Day commemorates the spontaneous assembly of one thousand two hundred and fifty enlightened monks over two and a half thousand years ago, an event of significant religious importance in Thailand.
The measure is designed to facilitate travel and ease expenses for motorists using the primary routes in and out of the capital during the holiday period.
