Arrest Made in Murder of Chinese Influencer Yan Ruimin
Ma Qinyan has been arrested in Hong Kong for the murder of Chinese TikTok influencer Yan Ruimin. Yan's body was discovered in Thailand on July 13. Thai authorities, with Interpol's help, obtained an international arrest warrant and are now pursuing Ma's extradition.
A Chinese man, Ma Qinyan, has been arrested in Hong Kong for the murder of Chinese TikTok influencer Yan Ruimin.
The arrest follows a collaboration between Thai authorities and Interpol.
Yan Ruimin's body was discovered on July 13 in Chachoengsao, Thailand.
Yan was last seen on CCTV with Ma Qinyan on July 1 in Bangkok.
The body was identified through DNA testing.
An international arrest warrant had been issued for Ma, who was seen in a deserted area in Chachoengsao on July 3, shortly before Yan's body was found.
Thai authorities are now handling extradition proceedings with Chinese officials.
