Cabinet approves 10% salary hike for new civil servants
The cabinet has greenlit a phased 10% increase in starting salaries for new civil servants, set to commence midway through the following year.
Danucha Pichayanan, the National Economic and Social Development Council's secretary-general, declared that starting wages for fresh government employees will reach a minimum of 18,000 baht within two years, with adjustments for current staff earning below this threshold.
Prommin Lertsuridej, the secretary-general to the prime minister, conveyed that this pay rise aims to boost the appeal and competitiveness of public sector compensation.
The plan ensures that pay reflects the duties of the position, avoiding extremes. Detailed salary adjustments will be provided by the Office of Civil Service Commission in time.
