Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin confirmed the strength of his coalition government, with the support of 314 MPs, dismissing the need for the additional backing of the opposition Democrat Party's 25 MPs.
He also quashed rumors about a potential Cabinet reshuffle, stating that no changes were proposed as the current Cabinet members are performing well.
Despite acknowledging the numerical advantage of potentially including the Democrat MPs, Srettha pointed out that it would complicate the distribution of ministerial roles. He had previously dismissed the idea of involving the Democrat Party for similar reasons.
Srettha was unfazed by nicknames from Government House reporters, noting it as an annual tradition. He addressed the criticism of his coalition's formation by emphasizing the urgency for a government, which led to the decision to exclude Move Forward, despite their electoral victory.
Challenged by being termed a surrogate for the Shinawatra family, he expressed confidence in the upcoming elections and his government's ability to complete its four-year tenure.
