Free Access to Most Motorways and Expressways for Motorists Starting Thursday
Starting Thursday, motorists can travel on most motorways and expressways without charge for seven days, from December 28 to January 3, as a New Year's gesture from the Transport Ministry.
The ministry aims to ease travel during the New Year holidays, with free access beginning at 12:01 am on Thursday and ending at midnight on January 3.
Earlier, a 51-kilometer portion of the 96-kilometer Bang Yai-Kanchanaburi motorway (Motorway No. 81) was opened for toll-free travel until January 3. Additionally, toll-free routes include:
- Motorway No. 7 from Bangkok to Ban Chang
- Motorway No. 9 (Bangkok outer ring road), between Bang Pa-in and Bang Pli, and from Phra Pradaeng to Bang Kae
- Motorway No. 6 from Pak Chong to Nakhon Ratchasima
- Bang Na - Chonburi Expressway
- Bang Pli-Suk Sawat Expressway
- Chalerm Mahanakhon Expressway
- Srirat Expressway
- Udon Ratthaya Expressway
Motorists are advised to fuel up before using the 77-kilometer Pak Chong-Nakhon Ratchasima motorway stretch, where there are no petrol stations.
