GO WHOLESALE Opens Its First Branch in Northeastern Thailand's Udon Thani
The retail giant strengthens its presence in Thailand's economic hub of Udon Thani, supporting local agriculture and cross-border commerce.
GO WHOLESALE has expanded its operations in Thailand with the opening of its 11th branch in Udon Thani, marking its first location in the northeastern region of the country.
This move comes as the company aims to capitalize on the economic growth and tourism expansion in the area while fostering trade with neighboring countries.
Located on a 37-rai plot of land with a sales floor of over 9,100 square meters, the Udon Thani branch features more than 15,000 product items.
Soucheda Itthijarukul, CEO of Central Food Wholesale Company Limited, a subsidiary of Central Retail, stated that Udon Thani is a strategic trade and investment hub in the Mekong region.
The area's potential for tourism and economic growth is underscored by its proximity to Laos, facilitating cross-border commerce.
GO WHOLESALE aims to serve local businesses, including numerous restaurants, hotels, and small retail outlets in the region.
The store will offer a diverse selection of fresh goods, including domestic and international produce, meats, and seafood.
Additionally, it will support local farmers by purchasing and helping to standardize agricultural products from local cooperatives, thus creating a stable market for products like bananas and native frogs.
The retailer also plans further expansion within the northeastern region, with a branch set to open in Khon Kaen on January 22, 2025. This new location will be strategically situated at the economic hub of Prachasamoson Road in the city center.
Additionally, GO WHOLESALE prioritizes agricultural support and sustainability by buying local produce and maintaining direct links between farmers and the market.
This commitment is exemplified by the store's initiative to purchase salad greens, bananas, and other produce from local farmers, with plans to expand its range of locally sourced products in the future.
