Identiv Finalises Shift of Manufacturing to Thailand to Lead Advanced IoT Production

The US IoT specialist completes its strategic relocation of production to Bangkok, establishing a state-of-the-art facility to scale complex RFID and BLE-enabled solutions
Identiv, a US-listed provider of Radio Frequency Identification and Bluetooth Low Energy Internet of Things solutions, has completed the transfer of its manufacturing operations from Singapore to a new facility in Bangkok, Thailand, marking a key milestone in its long-term growth strategy.

The completion of the transition, which concludes a multi-year relocation process, consolidates Identiv’s production base in Thailand and reflects the company’s commitment to operational excellence and cost efficiency in a competitive global market.

Executives at Identiv described the move as foundational to the company’s ambition to lead in multicomponent manufacturing, a production method that integrates chips, sensors, batteries and other elements into increasingly sophisticated IoT devices.

This approach is seen as critical to meeting rising demand for advanced applications beyond basic inventory tracking, such as real-time location services, condition monitoring and security-focused uses.

Thailand’s skilled workforce, competitive cost structure and strategic location in Southeast Asia were cited as significant advantages in Identiv’s decision to base its primary production operations there.

By centralising manufacturing in Bangkok, the company aims to enhance efficiency, reduce overhead and accelerate the commercialisation of next-generation RFID- and BLE-enabled products.

Identiv’s technologies are used in billions of applications worldwide across sectors including healthcare, consumer electronics, luxury goods, logistics and smart packaging.

The company’s leadership emphasised that Thailand’s facility will underpin its ability to bring more complex, high-value IoT solutions to market at scale, positioning the business for sustained growth.

The completion of the production shift is regarded as a pivotal operational achievement within Identiv’s broader Perform, Accelerate, Transform strategic framework, aligning manufacturing capability with anticipated industry trends and customer needs.
