Korean Cultural Center Celebrates Victorious Thai Athletes
Monday's event celebrated Thai Taekwondo athletes' feats, with Korean Ambassador Park Yongmin expressing his appreciation, noting that their efforts have led to groundbreaking gold medals and hopes of further cementing Korean-Thai ties through Taekwondo.
Pimol Srivikorn, the Taekwondo Association of Thailand's President, thanked the Embassy and Center for their long-term support, while Head Coach Choi Youngseok aspired for Olympic gold in Paris.
During the event, the Ambassador and coaches awarded five medalists with belts bearing inspirational Korean mottos and new sports shoes, in anticipation of their continued accomplishments.
Olympic champion Panipak Wongpattanakit resolved to win again in Paris, as she and other athletes—Banlung Tubtimdang, Chutikan Jongkolrattanawattana, Phannapa Harnsujin, and Thanwa Kaenkham—received belts with mottos encouraging determination, effort, self-belief, and resilience.
In a symbolic gesture, Pimol named the Ambassador as the team's honorary coach, fitting him with the team's uniform.
Concluding the ceremony, the Center and the Association sealed an MOU to organize the 'Choi Young Seok Cup International Taekwondo Championship' slated for February 3, 2024, underlining their dedication to advancing Taekwondo in Thailand.
