LGBTQ+ Group Demands Apology After Trans Woman Allegedly Pours Hot Soup on Student

Over 1,000 protesters gathered in Pathum Thani, calling for an apology after a viral assault video.
More than 1,000 LGBTQ+ individuals gathered in front of a condominium in Khlong Luang district, Pathum Thani province, on Saturday night, demanding that a trans woman, identified as 22-year-old Rasipha, apologize for allegedly pouring hot soup on a university student.

The incident, captured in a viral video, reportedly showed Rasipha pouring hot soup on the victim’s head three times, causing burns to his arms, neck, and waist.

She also allegedly cut the student’s hair and demanded 50,000 baht in cash.

The video quickly gained traction online, trending under the hashtag #สาดน้ำร้อน (splashing hot water).

The victim filed a police complaint at Khlong Luang Police Station and also contacted social media activist Guntouch Pongpaiboonwet, known as Gun Jompalang.

Authorities summoned Rasipha for questioning and charged her with physical assault.

Police are awaiting the medical report before proceeding with further legal action.

Khlong Luang Police Station Superintendent Pol Colonel Kiattisak Mitprasat, along with a group of LGBTQ+ representatives, arrived at the condominium at around 11 p.m. on Saturday, requesting Rasipha to apologize.

Protesters emphasized that their gathering was peaceful and intended only to secure an apology, not to seek revenge.

Authorities deployed officers at the scene on Sunday and instructed the condominium manager to restrict entry to prevent any potential violence.

A representative of the LGBTQ+ group, identified as Big Calypso, stated that the community was disappointed by the incident and urged Rasipha to take responsibility.

Meanwhile, the victim shared an update on Instagram, stating that he is recovering from his burns and expressing gratitude to his supporters, the police, and Guntouch.

'I will fight and recover my mental state quickly.

Thank you very much to all of you,' he wrote.

Police continue to investigate the case, and legal proceedings against Rasipha are expected to follow based on the medical report findings.
