SEA Games 33 Opening Ceremony Lights Up Bangkok with “We Are One” Show
Thailand to host the opening of the 33rd Southeast Asian Games on 9 December with a grand ceremony at Rajamangala Stadium celebrating regional unity.
The opening ceremony of the 33rd SEA Games is scheduled for 9 December 2025 at Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok.
As host nation, Thailand has conceived a show built around the motto “We Are One,” emphasising regional unity, shared victory, and fresh beginnings.
The ceremony will trace the origins of the SEA Games — first held in Thailand in 1959 — positioning this edition as a symbolic “Back to the Origin” moment and the start of a new chapter in its history.
The performance is divided into five segments: the first will take spectators on a journey back to the Games’ roots; the second celebrates cultural diversity across Southeast Asia; the third highlights athletes’ strength and determination through dynamic choreography and advanced production technology; another segment will honour friendship and collective victory; and the finale will combine state-of-the-art visuals, lighting, sound and multimedia effects to showcase Thai creativity and unity among the eleven participating nations.
A major highlight will be a performance by Thai-born K-pop star BamBam Kunpimook, alongside a line-up of prominent Thai entertainers and artists, including musicians and performers such as Jeff Satur, Suchata “Opal” Chuangsri, Proxie, LYKN, BNK48 and Butterbear.
Their combined talents are expected to deliver a powerful, celebratory start to the Games.
The ceremony will conclude with the lighting of the SEA Games cauldron in a new format — a moment organisers hope will become an iconic image of SEA Games 2025.
Given the large number of attendees anticipated, organisers have established a detailed transport and traffic plan for access to the stadium area.
Visitors without official parking passes will need to use one of three designated public parking zones: the Royal Thai Army Auditorium (Ramintra Expressway), LIVE PARK Rama IX or Hua Mak Centre.
Shuttle services, including buses and tuk-tuks, will operate from those parking zones and from key transit stations until the event concludes.
For those unable to attend in person, the opening ceremony will be streamed live on PPTV and via the official SEA Games 2025 online channels.
