Thai Chief of Defence Forces General Ukris Boontanondha Makes Strategic Visit to Singapore
Top military leader from Thailand pays official visit to Singapore underscoring deep defence cooperation and regional security ties
Thailand’s Chief of Defence Forces, General Ukris Boontanondha, has undertaken an official visit to Singapore this week, reinforcing longstanding defence ties between the two countries and advancing shared security priorities in Southeast Asia.
During the visit, General Boontanondha called on Singapore’s Minister for Defence, Mr Chan Chun Sing, at the Ministry of Defence in Singapore, where both sides discussed bilateral cooperation, regional stability and opportunities for further military collaboration.
The meeting formed part of a series of engagements following close coordination during recent joint activities, including the annual bilateral exercise Exercise Kocha Singa, which brought Thai and Singaporean forces together earlier this month in Singapore.
The visit highlights both nations’ commitment to sustained dialogue on defence matters and to deepening professional exchanges that contribute to peace and security within ASEAN and beyond.
Singapore’s defence officials reiterated the importance of the relationship and expressed appreciation for the Thai delegation’s visit.
This high-level engagement underscores the enduring partnership between Bangkok and Singapore in addressing shared security challenges and promoting interoperability and mutual understanding among their armed forces.
