The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) is confident that Thailand will host a Formula 1 race in 2027, as part of its broader strategy to create jobs, increase income, and establish Thailand as a premier MICE destination.
TCEB President Chirut Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya emphasized the potential economic benefits of hosting such events, noting that MICE tourists spend significantly more than regular tourists.
The success of events like Money 20/20 and medical conferences underscores Thailand's attractiveness.
The TCEB also points out that the Formula 1 race could have a considerable economic impact, drawing comparisons to Singapore, where hotel rates triple during the F1 season.
Beyond Bangkok, TCEB is expanding its mega-event hosting efforts in other provinces with festivals such as the Diamond of the Salt Festival in Phetchaburi and the World Horticultural Expo 2026 in Udon Thani.
Chirut believes Thailand will become a leading festival hub within a decade, propelled by the creativity of its people who organize over 10,000 festivals yearly.
