Thailand Forms Task Force to Address Major Criminals
New police headquarters aimed at tackling powerful individuals and organized crime syndicates.
The Royal Thai Police have established a new center dedicated to addressing major criminal activities, hired hitmen, and powerful individuals associated with organized crime. This initiative, spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner-General Pol Gen Prajuab Wongsuk, seeks to unify law enforcement efforts across the country to confront crimes that endanger public safety.
The operation will concentrate on issues such as loan sharking, bid-rigging, extortion schemes, and criminal control over various businesses, including factories, transport services, and entertainment venues. Authorities assert that these individuals are deeply embedded in numerous sectors and play a significant role in widespread criminal operations. The task force comprises senior officers skilled in crime prevention and investigations.
This action comes in response to rising concerns about criminal networks functioning in Thailand, particularly those engaged in financial scams, contract murders, and unlawful business dominance.
