Thailand has teamed up with the International Labour Organization (ILO) on a four-year plan to promote better work conditions
The Decent Work Country Programme (DWCP) focuses on workforce preparation, stronger safety nets, and enhancing stakeholder capabilities to ensure "decent work."
During a recent ceremony in Bangkok, the Labour Minister highlighted the significance of the DWCP for achieving global Sustainable Development Goals, thereby ensuring inclusive growth and addressing labor challenges.

To adapt to demographic changes and environmental issues, the DWCP addresses the declining workforce with strategies such as lifelong learning and initiatives to bolster employment services while promoting "green jobs" and digital inclusivity.
Key goals include tackling gender and discrimination in the workplace, improving accessibility for disabled individuals and migrants, and providing fair educational and employment opportunities.
Echoing these commitments, the Employers’ Confederation of Thailand (ECOT) and the State Enterprises Workers’ Relations Confederation (SERC) expressed support for the DWCP's alignment with international practices and sustainable development.
The plan also involves expanding social protection to informal workers and enhancing the social security framework to deliver comprehensive coverage.
In addition to domestic improvements, the DWCP seeks to meet international labour standards through the ratification and implementation of key conventions.
