Thailand Increases Gold Ornament Making Fee Amid Rising Gold Prices
Gold Traders Association raises production fee for first time since 2016; gold prices reach new highs
The Gold Traders Association (GTA) has announced an increase in the making fee for gold ornaments from 500 baht to 800 baht per baht-weight (15.16 grams), effective March 1, 2025. This adjustment, the first since May 1, 2016, aims to align the fee with the current economic landscape.
As of 9:00 AM on February 22, 2025, the GTA reported the buying price of gold bars at 46,600 baht and the selling price at 46,700 baht per baht-weight.
Gold ornaments were priced with a buying rate of 45,768.04 baht and a selling rate of 47,200 baht per baht-weight.
These figures reflect a 100 baht increase from the previous day.
The rise in both the making fee and gold prices underscores the dynamic nature of the gold market in Thailand.
