Thailand ranks 3rd in the world for most number of top women executives
Thailand is third globally for the proportion of senior female executives, according to a Grant Thornton survey among 28 nations.
The Philippines leads, with women holding 43% of top business roles.
In Thailand, women occupy 41% of leading positions, the survey covering 4,891 mid-sized firms revealed. Southeast Asian neighbors Malaysia and Indonesia rank seventh and tenth, respectively.
Grant Thornton's research spanned the fourth quarter of 2023 across Asia, Europe, and America, focusing on companies with 50 to 2,500 employees and various executive roles.
The Philippines has demonstrated a strong track record in gender-balanced leadership, while 42% of Thai firms have a woman as CEO or managing director, the highest among the surveyed nations.
The top ten countries for female executive representation include South Africa, Turkey, Nigeria, Spain, Australia, and France, alongside the Southeast Asian representatives.
