Thailand's Satellite Testing Centre Drives Space Ambitions
The AIT centre at Space Inspirium in Sriracha, Chonburi, conducts vital satellite tests for firms like Mu Space Corp and the RTAF. Recent achievements include the testing of THEOS-2A, set for launch from India this year, and future plans for a fully Thai-made satellite, THEOS-3, by 2027 to enhance Thailand's space economy.
The AIT centre at Space Inspirium in Sriracha, Chonburi, houses a clean room and test bench for satellite R&D.
It's used by firms like Mu Space Corp and the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF), which sent Thai Universe-1 for tests.
The centre offers vibration, temperature, and mass property tests, with electromagnetic tests coming soon.
Data is sent to Surrey Satellite Technology Limited (SSTL) in the UK, affirming Thailand's high testing standards.
GISTDA recently tested THEOS-2A, set to launch from India later this year, for national services including mapping and disaster response.
THEOS-3, a fully Thai-made satellite, will launch between 2026 and 2027 to boost Thailand's space economy.
