‘The White Lotus’ Season Four Set for Glamorous French Riviera and Paris Backdrop
HBO’s acclaimed anthology series will film its next chapter at the Château de La Messardière in Saint-Tropez and additional French locations, marking a shift from its Four Seasons roots
The upcoming fourth season of the Emmy-winning anthology series is poised to unfold against the storied luxury of the French Riviera and the cultural allure of Paris, production sources confirm.
After installments in Hawaii, Sicily and Thailand, the series will be anchored at the Château de La Messardière, a 19th-century palatial hotel in Saint-Tropez on France’s Côte d’Azur that has been extensively restored into a high-end resort as part of the Airelles Collection.
The property’s 86 rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, bars, spa facilities and private beach club provide a sumptuous setting for the satirical drama’s signature blend of opulence and interpersonal tension.
Variety and other outlets report that principal filming is scheduled to run from mid-April through October 2026, with additional scenes likely set in Paris and elsewhere along the Riviera, potentially including the Cannes Film Festival milieu.
The selection of Château de La Messardière and other French locales marks a departure from the show’s prior exclusive use of Four Seasons properties, reflecting the creative team’s desire for new visual and narrative landscapes.
Creator Mike White has already begun assembling a cast that includes Alexander Ludwig and AJ Michalka, with more announcements expected as production progresses.
While an official release date has not yet been announced, the series’ new setting underscores its enduring appeal and commitment to exploring distinctive luxury destinations as both backdrop and character in its unfolding dramas.
