Tomorrowland Confirms Historic First Asian Festival in Thailand for December 2026
World-renowned EDM festival to debut in Chonburi, marking its first full-scale Asian edition and boosting Thailand’s cultural tourism agenda
Tomorrowland, one of the world’s most celebrated electronic dance music festivals, has officially confirmed that it will stage its first full-scale Asian edition in Thailand in December 2026, marking a historic expansion of the brand beyond its traditional European and global footprint.
The event has been approved by Thailand’s Board of Investment, which endorsed a Thai–Belgian joint venture to organise “Tomorrowland Thailand” in Chonburi province near Pattaya, anticipated to attract up to fifty thousand attendees per day, with a majority expected to travel from abroad, and projected to generate significant economic value for the region.
The three-day festival, scheduled for December 11–13 2026, represents the first time Tomorrowland has been held on Asian soil, placing Thailand at the forefront of the global music festival circuit and aligning with national strategies to elevate the country as an international events destination.
The Board of Investment’s approval also includes support mechanisms to ease the staging of large-scale international events, such as import-duty exemptions for equipment and streamlined visa and work permit processes for artists and staff.
Beyond commercial impact, the project includes plans for a “Tomorrowland Academy,” aimed at transferring knowledge and elevating Thai expertise in event production, management and creative industries, helping to build local capacity for world-class cultural events.
Festival organisers and Thai authorities have highlighted that the partnership will not only deliver one of the world’s premier music experiences but also bolster Thailand’s soft power and showcase the country’s cultural assets to a global audience.
The selection of Chonburi reflects logistical and strategic considerations, with the province offering expansive venue space, robust transport links through multiple international airports and accommodation capacity to support the influx of attendees.
Organisers are expected to integrate elements of Thai culture and creative talent into the festival experience, further distinguishing the Asian edition while maintaining Tomorrowland’s signature production quality.
As preparations advance, interest in Tomorrowland Thailand has surged among fans and travel planners worldwide, with early indicators pointing to strong international demand.
Event planners and economic analysts view the festival as a milestone for Thailand’s entertainment and tourism sectors, anchoring the country’s role as a hub for global cultural and creative events in Southeast Asia.
