Bangkok Pride Festival 2025 Set to Be Thailand's Largest LGBTQ+ Celebration

Three-day event to feature 3 km parade, 200-meter rainbow flag, and nationwide participation
Bangkok is preparing to host the largest Pride event in Thailand's history, with the Bangkok Pride Festival 2025 scheduled from May 30 to June 1.

The festival will culminate in a three-kilometer parade on June 1, starting at the National Stadium and concluding at Ratchaprasong Intersection.

The parade will feature a 200-meter-long rainbow flag, marking a significant milestone for LGBTQ+ visibility in the region.

Themed "Born This Way," the festival will include five color-coded processions, each representing different aspects of LGBTQ+ identity and experience: Red for love and marriage equality, Purple for self-expression, Green for unity with society and the environment, Yellow for creativity and inspiration, and Blue for healing and healthcare access.

Events such as the Bangkok Pride Forum and the Bangkok Pride Awards will also take place, focusing on discussions around LGBTQ+ well-being, rights, and contributions to society.

The forum will cover topics including human rights, education, the rainbow economy, technology, and environmental issues, running from May 30 to June 1.

The Bangkok Pride Awards will be held on May 31 to recognize individuals and organizations advocating for gender diversity and equality.

This year's Pride celebrations follow the enactment of Thailand's Marriage Equality Act, which came into effect on January 23, 2025, making Thailand the first country in Southeast Asia to legalize same-sex marriage.

The law allows same-sex couples to marry and adopt children, reflecting a significant advancement in LGBTQ+ rights in the country.

The Bangkok Pride Festival 2025 is part of the broader "Amazing Thailand Love Wins Festival," a nationwide initiative celebrating Pride Month with events across more than 40 provinces.

The campaign aims to position Thailand as a leading destination for LGBTQ+ tourism and culture, with celebrations scheduled from May 25 to July 5, 2025.
