Depa Unveils 2025 Digital Workforce Enhancement Plan
The Digital Economy Promotion Agency has announced its 2025 plan to improve the quality of life in Thailand through digital technology. By enhancing the digital workforce and focusing on areas such as coding, the plan aims to prepare students and graduates for careers in technology. Key initiatives include scholarships, coding projects, and e-commerce workshops, along with fostering advancements in AI, blockchain, and e-sports.
The Digital Economy Promotion Agency (Depa) has announced its 2025 operational plan titled 'Perform Better, Think Faster, and Live Better' aimed at improving the quality of life for Thai citizens through digital technology.
Depa president Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin outlined the focus on enhancing the digital workforce, emphasizing areas like coding for students and recent graduates from both IT and non-IT fields.
The plan is divided into three phases: long-term, featuring ongoing projects such as Coding Thailand and 'Coding for Better Life'; medium-term, offering scholarships in digital technology; and short-term, through initiatives like the Connexion project to enhance e-commerce capacities for entrepreneurs.
Depa will also push for advancements in digital content, AI, blockchain, and quantum computing, alongside fostering Thailand’s e-sports ecosystem.
Over the past eight years, Depa has supported 1,560 projects with an approved budget of over 1.93 billion baht, creating an economic impact exceeding 24.3 billion baht.
