ICONSIAM’s ‘Amazing Thailand Countdown 2026’ Catapults Bangkok onto the Global New Year Stage

Thailand’s premier year-end festival draws international attention with five days of performances, spectacular riverfront fireworks and a major global artist lineup
Bangkok cemented its status as a leading global destination for year-end celebration with the resounding success of the Amazing Thailand Countdown 2026, a flagship New Year festival held at ICONSIAM’s River Park along the Chao Phraya River.

The five-day celebration, staged from 27 to 31 December 2025 under the banner “A Global Phenomenal Celebration at the Icon Unrivaled,” united public authorities, the private sector, local communities and international partners to deliver an unforgettable cultural spectacle that extended far beyond Thailand’s borders.

ICONSIAM, the landmark waterfront development in Bangkok, transformed its riverfront into a vibrant festival arena featuring world-class entertainment, immersive stage productions and cutting-edge visual technology.

The event drew large crowds of local and international visitors and showcased Thailand’s creative strengths across music, culture and performance arts.

Leading global artist Mark Tuan headlined the countdown celebrations, performing alongside a diverse roster of more than 200 Thai and international artists across multiple themed nights of music and festivities.

The New Year’s Eve programme culminated in a breathtaking 4D sky show over the Chao Phraya River.

Thailand’s longest eco-friendly fireworks display, combined with intricate drone formations and pyrotechnics set to the theme “In Eternity Reverence,” illuminated the night in tribute to the grace and legacy of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, reinforcing both cultural reverence and international spectacle.

Organisers designed the Countdown to appeal to a truly global audience, with ICONSIAM’s riverfront festival promoted across international media and supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, corporate partners and cultural institutions.

The event added significant momentum to Bangkok’s tourism narrative, contributing to increased visitor engagement during the peak holiday season and reinforcing the city’s capacity to host world-class celebrations that rival traditional New Year destinations worldwide.

The success of the Amazing Thailand Countdown 2026 at ICONSIAM signals a new era in Thailand’s cultural diplomacy and entertainment infrastructure, showcasing the nation’s ability to blend heritage, innovation and spectacle in celebrations that resonate with both domestic audiences and global travellers.
