Military Mobilizes for Flood Relief Across Thailand
Between August 16 and October 12, fifty-eight provinces in Thailand experienced flooding. Currently, 17 provinces are still flooded, while 41 have started recovery efforts. The Ministry of Defence is leading integrated flood relief operations with the army, navy, and air force actively involved.
From August 16 to October 12, fifty-eight provinces in Thailand were impacted by severe flooding, according to Major General Thanathip Sawangsaeng, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence.
Currently, 17 provinces remain affected, while 41 provinces have begun recovery.
The Flood, Storm, and Landslide Disaster Relief Operations Centre has coordinated with the Ministry of Defence, emphasizing integrated efforts for both current relief and future preparedness.
Defence Minister Phumtham Wechayachai has directed the army, navy, and air force to deploy personnel and resources according to their responsibilities.
