BMA and University Collaborate for Free Health-Focused Running Event
Bangkok residents invited to participate in HealthyCity Run on January 19 to promote fitness and wellness.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and Bangkok Thonburi University are set to host the HealthyCity Run on January 19, an initiative aimed at promoting health and wellness among Bangkok residents.
The event will take place from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the university in Thawi Wattana district.
Participants can join the run free of charge, but those wishing to receive a souvenir T-shirt can order one for 250 baht through the organiser’s Line ID (@1RPP).
The event will feature three running distances: 3 kilometers, 5 kilometers, and 10 kilometers, catering to participants of all ages, including children, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities.
The BMA partnered with the university to launch this event following findings from a recent health check-up program involving one million Bangkok residents, which revealed widespread issues of overweight, high cholesterol, and hypertension.
The running route will traverse the scenic Aksa Road, providing participants with a visually appealing backdrop to complement the health-focused initiative.
The organisers encourage early registration to ensure adequate preparation of drinks, snacks, and rewards for all participants.
This event underscores the city's commitment to fostering healthier lifestyles and raising awareness about the importance of regular exercise for overall well-being.
