The interest in remote work among Thai professionals has also significantly increased, rising from 50% in 2020 to 76% in 2023.
The Global Talent Survey 2024, conducted by JobStreet and Jobsdb under SEEK in collaboration with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and The Network, reveals significant insights into job relocation trends among Thai professionals.
The survey involved 150,000 participants from 180 countries, shedding light on global work preferences.
Key findings illustrate that 66% of Thai job seekers are considering international relocation, mainly for career advancement, higher salaries, and global experience, although the numbers are yet to reach pre-pandemic levels.
Young professionals are particularly enthusiastic about relocating, with top destinations including Singapore, Australia, the United States, and China.
Thailand itself has become a top choice for international job seekers, moving from the 39th to the 31st position globally since 2018.
The country attracts 62% of international talents due to its quality of life, inclusive culture, and affordable living costs.
As of March 2023, Thailand employs over 2.7 million foreign workers, making up 7% of its labor force.
Furthermore, the interest in remote work among Southeast Asian workers has surged, with 66% preferring to work for overseas companies without relocating.
