In a vibrant celebration of their 60-year diplomatic relationship, Thailand and Peru have launched an exhibition showcasing six ‘Torito de Pucará’ sculptures throughout Bangkok. The initiative, which emphasizes cultural exchange, features 1.5-metre-tall sculptures inspired by the traditional Peruvian ceramic bull, recognized as a National Cultural Heritage by the Ministry of Culture in Peru in 2019.
The exhibition commenced with all six sculptures displayed together at ICONSIAM from July 12 to 16, 2025. Following this initial showcase, the sculptures will be placed in five additional prominent locations in Bangkok from July 20 to November 5, 2025. The locations include:
The event was attended by dignitaries including Bangkok’s Governor, who emphasized the importance of cultural exchanges in enriching the city’s artistic landscape. The public has been encouraged to engage with the exhibition by taking photos with the sculptures and sharing them on social media with the hashtag #PeruMeetsThailand, which provides an opportunity to win a round-trip ticket to Peru.
Notable attendees included executives from the Siam Piwat Group, the featured artists, as well as representatives from various related organizations, reflecting a collective commitment to fostering bilateral ties through cultural initiatives.
