The Phu Lae International Animation Festival commenced in Chiang Rai, showcasing more than 1,274 animated films from 125 countries. Among these, 16 standout animations of the year have been highlighted, along with specially curated themed screenings that are presented on a weekly rotating basis.
This year's festival emphasizes a variety of thematic programs designed to engage audiences of all ages, with a particular focus on award-winning works. In the final week of July, the theme will be 'Early Childhood Animations,' featuring a selection dedicated to animated films intended for preschool-aged children.
Screenings are scheduled every Saturday and Sunday from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM. The prominent locations for the festival include the Chiang Rai Contemporary Art Museum and Singhaklai House, part of the Chiang Rai City Development initiative.
