Siam Kubota plans THB1.4-bn outlay amid positive outlook for Thai agriculture
Siam Kubota, Thailand's premier agricultural equipment supplier, is investing 1.4 billion baht into its operations amid a promising outlook for the nation's farming sector.
The move aims to boost production, support eco-friendly practices, and introduce new machinery, according to company president Junji Ota. Despite a revenue dip to 58 billion baht last year due to a drought, the firm anticipates a rebound to 60 billion in sales for the current year.
The investment will focus on production line expansion, automating operations, enhancing energy efficiency in line with ESG goals, and upgrading IT systems for customer service. About 40% of the funds will increase production capacity, notably for eco-friendly implements like hay balers aiding zero-burn farming.
Ota also expressed plans to grow exports to neighboring countries and introduce carbon-neutral products. He emphasized developing smart agriculture solutions to maintain leadership, bolster growth, address climate change, and prioritize sustainability through the company's RACE strategy.
At the same time, Siam Kubota is engaged in various initiatives alongside government bodies, enhancing farmers' tools and methods. Additionally, executive vice president Waraporn Osathapan mentioned a strategic focus on meeting the needs of emerging customer segments in 2024, aligning with Thai government objectives.
The company is also launching marketing campaigns to build trust in their brand and boosting dealer capabilities through data-driven programs, as reported by Phisanu Milintanuch, the executive vice president and general manager of sales.
