Thai Foreign Minister Reaffirms Stand‑Alone Talks to Resolve Dispute
JBC meeting scheduled for June to steer diplomatic path
Thailand’s Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa stressed that direct bilateral dialogue remains the most effective means of resolving border issues with Cambodia, following a Joint Boundary Commission meeting.
Minister Maris reaffirmed the use of the JBC, along with the General and Regional Border Committees, citing guidance from the United Nations and endorsements from Prime Ministers Paetongtarn Shinawatra and Hun Manet.
The next JBC session is planned for mid‑June as officials seek to reduce nationalist tensions and restore stability along the border.
