Government pushes for Formula 1 to promote tourism and urban development
The Thai government, led by Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, has announced plans to host a Formula 1 (F1) racing event in Thailand as part of a strategy to stimulate economic growth through increased tourism.
In a post on social media platform X, the Prime Minister emphasized the potential benefits of such an event, which include attracting tourists, generating new income, and enhancing Thailand's image as a world-class destination.
These efforts are part of a broader project designed to expand urban areas and invigorate the local economy.
Additionally, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, represented by deputy spokesman Karom Phonphonklang, is set to launch the "72 Styles of Happiness to Experience" campaign.
This initiative aims to increase the tourism revenue by 7.5% with a variety of activities spread across 72 selected travel routes in Thailand.
The campaign will feature an e-book listing 'Five Must-Do' activities per route, ranging from tasting local dishes to engaging in adventurous activities.
Alongside, five influencers will create travel vlogs to promote these destinations, enhancing travel interest for the year-end season and beyond.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand is concurrently advocating the unique appeal of Thai culture to stimulate year-round travel and boost spending across the provinces, ensuring the sustainability of tourism development.
