Thailand Post Expands Services with Postman Cloud Initiative
The initiative aims to utilize data-driven solutions for enhanced delivery services and revenue generation.
Thailand Post is launching an innovative suite of services named Postman Cloud, which aims to capitalize on its extensive nationwide postal network to create new revenue streams.
As per statements from the agency's chief executive, Dhanant Subhadrabandhu, the initiative is designed to leverage available data to support both economic and social sectors effectively, responding to their needs and improving competitiveness in various sectors including information communication and logistics.
Postman Cloud represents a strategic shift for Thailand Post, transforming traditional last-mile delivery services into comprehensive first-mile offerings.
The service harnesses data collected from individual postal employees, enabling personalized product and service offerings that align with customer preferences.
Moreover, the initiative involves aggregating and analyzing this data in collaboration with business partners, which can assist in diverse applications such as surveying properties for real estate and catering to specific demographics like the elderly.
With a workforce exceeding 40,000 employees, of which 25,000 are postmen, Thailand Post is positioned to effectively deploy these new services across its vast network.
The Postman Cloud initiative comprises three primary solutions targeting both governmental and private sectors.
The first solution includes a survey service that facilitates the identification and assessment of properties nationwide, which encompasses property condition reports, document collection, and electronic identity verification.
The second solution focuses on point-to-point delivery services, offering same-day, next-day, and secure delivery options for high-value items.
The third component is a matching service, utilizing the local know-how of postmen to connect partner offerings with targeted customer bases.
Recently, Thailand Post showcased the capabilities of its Postman Cloud service by collaborating with Bangkok Telling Co. to survey and remove over 10,000 mini-kiosks associated with True Move H Universal Communication Plc after the latter ceased the kiosk service on December 1, 2024.
In addition to these services, Thailand Post has diversified its offerings by introducing a range of products under its Prai brand, commencing with drinking water and rice in October 2023, followed by the launch of Prai Coffee in 2024. The agency plans to expand the product line further by incorporating energy drinks in the near future.
