Thailand Strengthens Partnership with UN Volunteers
Discussions focus on increasing Thai participation in global volunteer initiatives.
The Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand held discussions with the head of the Communications and International Public Relations Division of the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) program.
The meeting focused on strategies to enhance cooperation between Thailand and the UNV initiative, particularly in promoting Thai engagement as volunteers in UN programs.
The talks emphasized the need to increase the involvement of Thai citizens in UNV activities, aligning with upcoming initiatives aimed at highlighting the significance of volunteerism for sustainable development, scheduled for 2026.
This initiative, termed the Year of Volunteerism for Sustainable Development, is set to launch on July 1, 2025, with various activities planned to foster awareness and involvement in volunteer efforts within Thailand and beyond.
