Thailand Targets One Million Japanese Tourists by Year-End

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand aims to attract at least one million Japanese visitors by the end of the year.
Polphum Wipatphumiprathet, an aide to Tourism and Sports Minister Sermsak Pongpanich, stated that the ministry plans to discuss tourism cooperation with Japanese authorities.
Japan, with its population of 124 million, is seen as a high-quality tourist market that is vital to maintain and expand.
Last year, about 800,000 Japanese visitors traveled to Thailand, and the goal is to increase this to one million, contributing to a tourism revenue target of 3.5 trillion baht.
From January to June this year, 470,789 Japanese tourists visited Thailand, among the 17.5 million total foreign arrivals.
